The client approached AZRA in need of support in the design process of a mobile application designed to provide young adults with education on mortgages and assist them in finding optimal options. The app features an AI companion, an extensive video library, and a futuristic design.

Strategy and Approach

The product strategy was developed collaboratively with the client to ensure their vision seamlessly integrated into the design. To better understand user preferences, we conducted user interviews.

The insights gathered helped us determine the most effective way to interact with the AI companion within the app and present information in a digestible manner.

Our goal was to design an intuitive interface that facilitated communication with the AI companion, providing relevant and easily understandable educational information on mortgages. We aimed to create a design that stood out from the traditional mortgage domain and appealed to younger demographics.

Target Audience

The target audience for the app is young adults aged 18-25 who are starting to consider their future and explore the possibility of homeownership.

They possess tech-savviness and have short attention spans, necessitating an interface that bridges the gap between "boring" information and engaging user experience.

Design Approach

The design approach involved marrying the traditional mortgage industry with an intuitive and modern interface, using design thinking principles.

Our design featured a custom sign-up process with onboarding, an AI companion with speech recognition, a chat function, a knowledge library consisting of videos and text, and the ability to provide feedback. The style guide we developed allowed the client to scale the application internally, providing them with a valuable asset.

Outcome

Through the implementation of user interviews, UX design, and UI design, we successfully created an app that addresses the specific needs of young homebuyers.

The app not only educates users on mortgage-related topics but also utilizes AI to find tailored solutions and connect users with professionals who can assist in the home-buying process.

The design approach successfully merged the old-fashioned mortgage industry with an appealing and easy-to-use interface, catering to the target audience's preferences and providing optimal value.
